Art In Motion 10K/5K/2K Charity Run & Family Walk

Join the Art In Motion 10K/5K/2K Charity Run & Family Walk on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at Boyd Conservation Area in Vaughan, Ontario.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Art In Motion welcomes runners, walkers, families and community teams of all ages and experience levels. Participants can choose from a 10K, 5K or family-friendly 2K run and walk.

The event raises funds in support of SickKids Foundation and the Dr. Bonnie Cameron Scholarship, helping children living with arthritis and supporting deserving students pursuing their education. Over the past decade, Art In Motion has brought together more than 1,600 participants and raised over $200,000 for charitable causes.

Race-day features include finisher medals for 10K and 5K participants, race photos, free parking, bag check, a pancake breakfast, fundraising rewards, anniversary giveaways and a virtual participation option.

LEAF Volunteer Orientation: Wednesday, September 16 (virtual)

Are you passionate about trees and want to grow the urban forest? Join LEAF for one of our Volunteer Orientations to discover how you can lend a helping hand!

During this interactive virtual session, participants will learn about the LEAF mission, our programs and the different volunteer roles that LEAF offers.

We invite you to register  for our upcoming Virtual Orientation and join the LEAF volunteer community this year!

Wednesday, September 16 Virtual Volunteer Orientation (6:30pm to 7:30pm)

During the interactive session, you will learn how to support your local environment by getting involved with LEAF programs in Toronto, York Region, and Durham Region. Together, we will explore the many volunteer opportunities available so that you can find the best fit for your skills, interested and availability.

Opportunities include:

Getting your hands dirty as a Community Tree Planting Volunteer
Maintaining pollinator habitats as a Garden Steward
Educating the public as an Outreach Team Member
Capturing the fun at a tree tour as an Event Photographer
Assisting behind the scenes as an Office Volunteer

While you must be over the age of 18 to volunteer with LEAF, please know that we still welcome folks of all ages at our Community Tree Planting and Stewardship Events and are always happy to sign participants’ high school volunteer hours form.  Registrants will be provided a Zoom Meeting link to access the orientation.

The event will be delivered online and can be accessed through a web browser or an electronic device with the Zoom app. Internet access is required.

Vaughan Superwalk 2026

Join us for Vaughan SuperWalk 2026 from 9a.m – 1 p.m. on September 13th, 2026 at Vaughan City Hall, a community event raising awareness and support for people living with Parkinson’s disease and their families. This family-friendly walk welcomes participants of all ages and abilities to come together, connect with the community, and make a difference. SuperWalk events support Parkinson Canada’s programs, services, advocacy efforts, and research initiatives.

Admission is free, however, online registration prior to the event is preferred. While there is no cost to participate, donations and fundraising are encouraged to help support those affected by Parkinson’s disease and advance research toward better treatments and care.

Whether you walk in support of a loved one, as someone impacted by Parkinson’s, or simply to support a meaningful cause, every step helps strengthen our community and create a brighter future for those living with Parkinson’s. Come walk with us at Vaughan SuperWalk 2026 and help make every step count.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY AT BINGO WORLD AND GAMING – RICHMOND HILL

Attention Greater Toronto and York Area Residents!

DMRF Canada is thrilled to share an exciting fundraising opportunity with Bingo World and Gaming Richmond Hill. By volunteering your time, you’ll help DMRF Canada earn a portion of the funds raised during the Bingo events. With four successful sessions already held we’re off to a fantastic start, raising over $12,000!

Volunteering Details:

– Shift Duration: Each volunteer shift will last 2.5 hours.
– Funds Raised: Each event will generate approximately $3,000 for dystonia research and support programs.
– Commitment: We are seeking volunteers who can participate every two months for at least six months. Shifts will be on Fridays 3:00PM-5:45PM.
– Upcoming sessions: January 10th, & March 21st
– Requirements: Volunteers are expected to act in a way that builds public trust and confidence in the Foundation. You do not need to have dystonia to volunteer. Volunteers should be able to walk or stand for their 2.5-hour shift and be capable of tucking in chairs. Volunteers will be required to sign a waiver and undergo a brief screening session with Foundation staff.
– Volunteer Incentives: Volunteers will receive a DMRF Canada t-shirt and those who successfully complete six bingo sessions will receive a $200 gift card as a thank-you for their commitment and hard work!

Steering for Steer Friends Automotive Festival

Rev your engines for a cause! The Steering for Steer Friends Automotive Festival returns for its fifth year, uniting car enthusiasts and the community in support of Steer Friends, a charity dedicated to individuals with disabilities. This exciting fundraising event features a premium indoor showcase, free outdoor show car parking, live entertainment, kids zone, industry vendors, food trucks, prizes, awards, cash raffles, and a stunning display of exotic, modified, classic, and vintage cars, plus motorcycles.

All proceeds benefit the Steer Friends Capital Building Fund, helping create a fully inclusive facility for individuals with disabilities and complex care needs.

The Walk is a long-standing annual fundraiser that brings thousands of people together each year. Thousands of participants will take on the challenge of riding 200+KM from Toronto to Niagara, all with an undeniable spirit of camaraderie and community.

Volunteers play a crucial role in bringing this event to life. Whether assisting with the opening ceremony in Toronto/Niagara, helping set up the main campsite in Hamilton, or managing the finish line in Niagara Falls, your time, skills, and creativity make a positive impact.
