2019 Festival of Lights Volunteers
Join us to help with the annual Festival of Lights event on Main Street Markham. We are looking for help with set up and tear down, line control for Santa Hut and other activities, and to dress up in costume and interact with people attending the event.

Annual Spelling Bee Contest

The annual YPAM grade specific Spelling Bee for grades 1 to 8 takes place in November. With registration, participants are offered unique coaching sessions with preparation tips for parents and students in order to encourage top performance from all participants. Students are teamed with others in their grade, with each one spelling out a word from the study manual that will be given by YPAM before a panel of judges. The overall experience, especially for returning contestants, is designed to promote self-confidence along with language skills and related cognitive benefits.

With your treat bag in tow, trick-or-treat around the Museum grounds! Have your fortune told by our Fortune Teller, and dance the night away at our Monster Mash! Come in costume, have fun and enjoy the family activities.

Trick or Treat on Main Street Markham

Dress up in costume and Trick or Treat your way down Main Street Markham on Saturday October 26th 2019 from 12pm to 2pm.

Meet some special guests along your adventure and take a photo at the photo booth.
Participating businesses will be handing out Halloween treats while supplies last.

Colours of Autumn Luncheon & Fashion Show

The Markhaven Foundation is honoured to present our 3rd annual Colours of Autumn Luncheon & Fashion Show on Oct. 23, 2019. Come and join us for an exciting and entertaining afternoon! The last two years each brought in a sold-out crowd of 500+ guests and tickets are selling fast again this year. All proceeds from this fundraiser go directly to Markhaven Home for Seniors in Markham, ON.

Markhaven’s Colours of Autumn Luncheon & Fashion Show includes:
Lunch with choice of entrée, fashion show, door & raffle prizes, silent auction and boutiques;
Fashions from Chic Thrills, Eleven Joseph, Jillian’s, and Peppertree Klassics; and
Fundraising to enhance our residents’ care, comfort and enjoyment.

Markhaven’s generous community support will help to:
Build an outdoor deck facing Markhaven’s adjacent parkland for our residents
Purchase 4 Palliative Care Carts, one for each unit
Refurbish our Paramount Unit
