Come volunteer with the Rebecca Run for SMA!

Have fun, get volunteer hours (if you need them!) and feel good supporting an amazing 5K run and a Kids Fun Run on Saturday July 5, 2025! We are so excited to be back for our 24th year of this Run, and with your help, energy and enthusiasm, we will be stronger than ever!

There is always a special role for you and we look forward to having you join our Rebecca Run Volunteer Team, and make an impact for those affected by SMA across Canada!

There are many ways to get involved –
You can help at a water station, cheer on the runners as a route marshal, help at the start/finish area, or congratulate our finishers with a well-deserved medal at the finish line!

All volunteers will receive:
– An awesome comfy volunteer t-shirt
– Access to our post-run party (including lots of snacks/food!)
– High school students can earn community service hours
– The opportunity to be on our Volunteer Team that is integral for making the run a special day for so many families!

Steering for Steer Friends Automotive Festival

Rev your engines for a cause! The Steering for Steer Friends Automotive Festival returns for its fifth year, uniting car enthusiasts and the community in support of Steer Friends, a charity dedicated to individuals with disabilities. This exciting fundraising event features a premium indoor showcase, free outdoor show car parking, live entertainment, kids zone, industry vendors, food trucks, prizes, awards, cash raffles, and a stunning display of exotic, modified, classic, and vintage cars, plus motorcycles.

All proceeds benefit the Steer Friends Capital Building Fund, helping create a fully inclusive facility for individuals with disabilities and complex care needs.

Join us for a day of horsepower and heart as we drive change together!

The 360° Experience

Presented by Hyundai, the 360° Experience with 360° Kids aims to spread awareness and raise funds for vulnerable youth across York Region. High school students are welcome to engage in this volunteer opportunity to receive community hours. 6.5 hours for event participation, 1h for every $100 raised, 3h for being social and 2h for writing a reflection essay. Robert Davidson Walk for PF – Markham

Join us for the 3rd annual Robert Davidson Walk for PF, hosted by Heather Davidson. Bring the whole crew for a day of bonding, activities, and midday munchies at the local pub following our walk. Let’s unite, raise awareness, and make a difference for people living with pulmonary fibrosis.

Join us on our walk, or cheer on those who are walking, and enjoy a free lunch afterwards.

Coldest Night of the Year – Richmond Hill

Coldest Night of the Year is a fun, family-friendly fundraising walk inviting Canadians to step outside the warmth and comfort of their home to shine a light of welcome, compassion, and inclusion in their communities.

As Blue Door’s only annual fundraiser, Coldest Night of the Year – Richmond Hill is an imperative event as it allows Blue Door programs to continue to provide life-saving supports and services to our community’s most vulnerable. Funds raised support urgent needs and Blue Door’s Mosaic Interfaith Out of the Cold program, providing services to youth, adults, seniors, and families experiencing homelessness and poverty in York Region.

Evergreen Hospice “An Evening to Treasure” Gala

Evergreen Hospice, serving Markham, Stouffville and Thornhill, is hosting a fundraising gala on Thursday, October 13th at 6 pm. The theme of this gala is a treasure hunt. Your journey starts with the purchase of a ticket. You will be given hints and clues to collect all the items needed to be entered for our grand prize. This event also features entertainment, a gourmet meal and drinks, live and silent auctions. You will be helping Evergreen support people in your community coping with a life-threatening illness, caregiving or grief.

Terry Fox Virtual Run

What: The Terry Fox Virtual Run. We will unite in spirit, not in person.

Where: Participate wherever you are! Around your neighborhood, backyard, down the street, or around the block. Walk, run, ride!

How: Register online as an individual, family, or virtual team – start your fundraising today

Why: Because cancer research can’t wait for COVID-19 to be over. Because Terry asked us to try.
