Two vaccination clinic days for urban/off-reserve Indigenous residents and household members

York Region is hosting two vaccination clinic days for urban/off-reserve Indigenous residents and household members on March 29th and 30th 2021. We request your assistance in getting the word out to this community. The link is now open to make appointments on March 29th and 30th. Just scroll down to the section ‘Vaccine Clinics for Indigenous Adults and Families’ to book an appointment COVID-19 Vaccinations Clinics | York Region.
A number of steps have been taken to ensure the vaccination clinics on these days are welcoming to First Nations, Métis, and Inuit community members. Elders, greeters and navigators will be at the clinics ready to greet and support individuals. Staff at the Region’s clinics participated in cultural sensitivity training. Smudging will be available if individuals are interested.
If a person identifies as Indigenous, they can provide identification such as a Status Card, Métis Citizen Card, N-number for NIHB, or a Land Beneficiary Card at their appointment. If they do not have these documents they can self-identify at registration. No one will be turned away if unable to provide proof.
