DESCRIPTION:About Founder Fundamentals \nInterested in building your entrepreneurial skills to launch your startup? \nYSpace\, York University’s innovation hub\, is partnering with the Markham Small Business Centre (MSBC) to host an 11-week educational program called Founders Fundamentals. \nWhether you are a professional services company\, brick and mortar or technology startup\, the program aims to equip you with the essential skills and knowledge needed to succeed. Spanning across topics such as social media marketing\, to how to write a business plan\, to legal basics and more\, this program provides a wide range of learning. In addition\, the program connects you with local resources for potential next steps as you progress in your entrepreneurial ventures. \nIndividuals who attend at least 9 out of the 11 workshops will receive an Innovation York Certificate of Completion\, illustrating their dedication to learning about the essentials of launching a successful business. \nAbout the Workshop \nThis workshop will guide founders through the wide world of design\, demystifying the role and practices that go into building an amazing consumer or B2B product. \nFrom explaining the difference between Ui and UX\, all the way to the frameworks\, tools\, and methods top design teams at Apple and Google prescribe to\, we will cover it all in a way that is approachable and informative for the non-designer founder. \nTopics will include: \n• The different design skillsets (Ux\, Ui\, IxD\, etc) and how they relate to your startup. \n• A practical day-to-day product design roadmap from idea to IPO. \n• Design tips\, methodologies\, and solutions you can put in place TODAY without a design professional in your organization. \n• Designing for conversion\, experience\, community\, and more. \n• A Q&A session at the end. \n  \n
