DESCRIPTION:The Markham Kinsmen started the Markham Village Music Festival in 1978. Back then\, it was simply called the Markham Village Festival. Since music is such a strong component of the Festival\, the name was changed to the Markham Village Music Festival in 2001. \nThe Festival is supported by donations from the Federal Government\, Provincial Government\, the City of Markham\, many local businesses\, as well as corporations and individuals. Extra funds are raised through the rental of craft and food booths. In-kind donations are gratefully received. It truly is a party supported by our community! \n
