DESCRIPTION:You are invited to a special interactive drumming show at Milliken Mills Library as we celebrate the launch of MPL’s Black Heritage Collection.  \nExperience this memorable\, live African drumming performed by local musician Richard Best. Learn about the Black Heritage behind the music and more.  \nRichard Best Bio: \nRichard Best started working with VibeArts(formally Arts for Children and Youth) in early 2000. Over the years\, he has worked with countless children and adults teaching African Drumming Workshops across the GTA.\nHis noted credits include working and performing with the award winning Indigenous artist and musician David R. Maracle. More recently\, Richard had the opportunity to create the music for 3 independent documentary films by Jeanette Kong. They are: ‘The Chiney Shop’\, ‘Half: The Story of a Chinese Jamaican Son’\, and ‘A Brief Record of My Father’s Time at Sea’. \n
